From time to time I will hold Moldavite for a few minutes, but I had not done a Moldavite meditation since I used Moldavite for dreamwork.  Tonight I laid down on my bed with a Selenite wand in my hands and put a piece of Moldavite on my third eye.  It was an interesting experience.  I felt as if I was spinning around in a cloud-like place.  The feeling of spinning was very distinct.  It was not a fast, uncomfortable spinning sensation.  It just felt different to me, in a way that is hard to describe.  There was a sound, similar to the melodic drone of a crystal singing bowl.

After a few minutes I returned myself to consciousness and used black tourmaline on my base chakra to ground myself.  Have you tried Moldavite for meditation?  If so, let me know what your experience was.  Feel free to check out the Moldavite specimens I have for sale here: Moldavite.

Usually when people think of a gemstone, they think of an inorganic crystalline structure.  However, the term “gemstone” is broad, and actually includes organic materials that can be used as gemstones.  Pearls, Amber, Ivory, Coral, Bone, Fossils, Mother of Pearl, and Jet are organic in origins, but are considered gemstones.  There is not a generally accepted set of guidlines for what constitutes a gemstone, but a general definition for a gemstone is: “a precious or semiprecious stone that can be used as a jewel when cut and polished”.  Although organic gemstones are not necessarily stones, they have the characteristics of stones such as hardness, being able to be carved or cut, and the ability to be polished.
