Tarot Card Decks
I currently own three tarot card decks. I have found working with each one to be different. My reviews on the deck are my personal experience with them. Please remember while reading the reviews, that different people connect better with certain decks than others.
Feel free to click on the tarot card's image for easy purchasing through Amazon.
Gilded Tarot
This was the first deck that I learned to read Tarot with. This deck is based on Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS), but I find that the artwork needs to be interpreted slightly differently than with other decks. The artwork has a Renaissance look mixed with a modern machine aspect, and the cards have a surreal fantasy look to them. The artwork is gorgeous. By paying attention to the artwork, you can gain insight into its messages and the meaning within the cards.
Halloween Tarot
I love Halloween, so when I saw this deck, I knew I had to have it! This deck is based on Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) model. The artwork has a fun, nostalgic feel to it. This deck is filled with smiling faces and plenty of Halloween symbolism. The Minor Arcana Suits are represented by Pumpkins (Pentacles), Bats (Swords), Ghosts (Cups), and Imps (Wands). The Major Arcana remains the same as other Tarot decks, but their imagery is based around Halloween imagery. For example, the High Priestess is a vampire. Each card features an omnipresent black cat, much in the way that the RWS deck has the dog. Although this deck is Halloween themed, I personally don't feel that its use needs to be confined to Halloween time.
Tarot of Pagan Cats
When I saw these, I wanted them. When I realized that they had sphinx (hairless) cats on the back of the cards, I knew I had to get them because I have a sphinx cat. These cards are based on the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) model, but with a catty twist. The cards do a wonderful job at conveying emotion due to the cats' body language, and the artwork is absolutely beautiful. I find the meanings of each card to be pretty clear. If you love cats, I would suggest this tarot deck.
The Hobbit Tarot
I recently bought this deck. I will need to use it and get to know it better before making a review for this deck. A review will come soon though. What I can say so far though, is that I love the images and the fact that it is based on The Hobbit. :)
